IT doesn't get any better than this for Queensland fans of the fantasy TV series Merlin.
They have rejoiced with the news a fifth season has been commissioned; and that there is talk of a feature film spin-off; but now they are beside themselves with word that the star of the show will be live among them in Brisbane next month.
Colin Morgan who plays Merlin is heading Down Under for pop-culture expo Supanova which runs from November 4 to 6 at the Brisbane RNA Showgrounds.
"This will be my very first time to Australia," the Northern Ireland-raised actor told this week. "So all doors are open as to what's best to do there - hopefully I'll be living it up!
"Time permitting I hope to get down to the (Gold) Coast; that would be brilliant."
It will only be a short trip before he heads off to the US for promotional work ahead of preparing for filming of season five of Merlin which has become a worldwide hit. (Season four is currently showing on Sunday nights on Ten).
Show co-creators Julian Murphy and Johnny Capps recently revealed a Merlin feature film was "in discussions", but Morgan is as much in the dark about it as fans.

Supanova, November 4-6, Brisbane RNA Showgrounds. Tickets:
